What drove us to create iDonate?
After hearing in the news of charitable organizations constantly misusing funds, Ronak realized that people were going to lose faith in donating money to charity. After all, if the money was just going to be wasted, why bother donating at all?.
Troubled by this development, Ronak realized that the average person would be more comfortable with donating if they knew exactly what the money would be spent on. Additionally, after constantly hearing people telling what charities really needed, Ronak realized that he needed to make it possible for people to not only know what they were donating, but to be able to control what they were going to donate.
Ronak decided to create an app, iDonate, in which users could simply scan the barcode of the item they wished to donate and choose a charity, streamlining the process of donating to charities ten-fold.
Realizing that he wanted to create a truly intuitive interface, Ronak enlisted the help of his friend Tushar Chopra, an app designer. While Ronak excelled in programming and could design well, Tushar excelled in design, and immediately took to designing the interface.
